The 11th cycle of the Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture (BAEA) exhibition was
officially inaugurated on January 2, 2025. The event took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) in Agargaon. The exhibition, which showcases 72 exceptional architectural projects, will remain open to the public until January 6, 2025, from 3 PM to 8 PM every day.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Ar. Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, President of IAB, and Md. Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited. Additionally, several notable figures attended the event. These included Ar. M. Masud Ur Rashid, General Secretary of IAB; Ar. Asia Karim, Award Director; Ar. Md. Abu Musa Iftekhar, and Ar. Nazifa Tabassum, Deputy Award Directors. The distinguished jury members—Ar. Abu Hydar Imamuddin, Ar. Bayejid Mahbub Khondker, and Ar. Tamanna Sayeed—were also present. Moreover, Berger Paints executives such as Abul Kasem Mohammad Sadeque Nawaj, Chief Business Officer, and A T M Shamim Uz Zaman, Chief Marketing Officer, graced the occasion.
The exhibition highlights six award-winning projects, which are:
- A Home For Memories And Daydreams by Studio Gumtee Ghor.
- Rupgaon by Perceive + ASP.
- Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited Unit-17 Multipurpose Industrial Building by Neoformation Architects.
- Ajo Idea Space by Group of Architects and Thinkers.
- Golpogriho by Induscon Architects.
- Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park by VITTI Sthapati Brindo Ltd.
The Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture (BAEA), a collaboration between Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), seeks to recognize outstanding contributions to architecture. Importantly, it celebrates creativity and innovation while honoring works that have made a lasting impact in the field.
