Tahsin Tajwar Zia, born in 2005, is a Bangladeshi chess player and a FIDE Master (FM). Inspired by his father, Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, a legendary figure in Bangladeshi chess, Tahsin began his journey at a young age. His dedication has led to significant achievements, including a peak Elo rating of 2345.
In 2022, Tahsin and his father made history as the first father-son duo to represent Bangladesh in the Chess Olympiad. Their shared passion for chess shone brightly on the international stage. However, in July 2024, tragedy struck as Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman passed away during a chess match. This loss left Tahsin to navigate both personal grief and the challenge of continuing his chess career without his mentor.
